When choosing the fixtures and fittings to go into your new bathroom it is important to understand any special installation requirements of those products. For example;
• A shower mixer tap will need to have a mechanism installed behind the wall and the plumbing configuration is different to standard tapware.
• An Inwall toilet or wall hung pan will need certain components installed into the wall cavity before the wall is lined.
• If you are using a freestanding bath you may have to use floor mounted tapware, therefore the plumbing will need to set up for this, possibly when the slab is being poured.
• The shower arm may need to be located at a higher position than normal to be able to stand under it properly.
It is always best to know what you want to put in the room before construction commences so the necessary allowance can be made to accommodate these items.
