CHOOSING A SHOWER HEAD

Which shower you choose will depend primarily on how you like to shower.

Many people like the option for a handheld shower to aid in cleaning the shower, while others prefer the luxurious feel of water falling overhead with a rain shower. Some showers are available to give an all over body massage.

Whichever way you like to shower there is a shower head to suit your needs. The easiest way to start to sort through the countless 100’s of showers is to decide what type of shower you like, then we will look at the different shower heads available for those showers, then look at any other options available.

SHOWER TYPES

FIXED SHOWERS. A fixed shower has a fixed, non adjustable arm extending from the wall. Arm’s can range from a small spout like arm, to grand gooseneck style arms. There is a fixed arm to suit any bathroom style from traditional to very modern.

ALL DIRECTIONAL SHOWERS have an arm that will adjust to many positions allowing the person showering to position the shower head in the best position for their showering needs.

HANDSHOWERS are a shower head attached to the end of a flexible hose, they have a mounting bracket which is attached to the wall that the handpiece sit into. Handheld showers are becoming very popular, and a lot of people use them for cleaning the shower/ bath.

RAIL SHOWERS have a metal or plastic rail mounted to the wall. On the rail is a slider where a hand held shower sits into. The slider is then able to be raised or lowered depending on the height of the person showering. Again the handpiece is very handy for cleaning the shower with.

MAST SHOWERS are a combination of an overhead shower and a rail shower. They have a rail with a slider which holds a handshower, plus they have a arm extending from the top of the rail with a overhead shower attached.

RAIN SHOWERS have a larger shower head and are attached to either a wall mounted arm or a ceiling mounted arm. Wall mounted arms can be straight or gooseneck, and there are several lengths ceiling arms can extend to. Rainshowers are very popular as they have a larger surface area and give a very relaxing showering experience.

FLUSH MOUNT CEILING SHOWER for something a little more luxurious these showers are set into the ceiling, there are no arms extending down and they create a very modern minimalist look.
